AnchorAre Your Business and Technology Roadmaps Aligned?

business and technology

Do you have a well-planned Information Technology (IT) strategy to support your company's 2010 business objectives?

Typically, business strategies and technology plans are created independently by the people responsible for them.  Oftentimes, this results in poor communication, costly mistakes and under-utilized employees. By linking strategy with innovation, departments can come together to identify common needs and opportunities.

Aligning business and technology roadmaps across a firm helps achieve several key objectives:

- Roadmaps help focus attention on longer-term planning and improve communication and ownership of plans

- Roadmaps help identify needs, gaps, strengths and weaknesses in a common language across the firm

- Roadmaps help focus a team's thinking on the few most important priorities at each step of the planning process

- Roadmaps help determine how to invest in technology, maxmize ROI and strategically leverage technology trends

Infinity works with clients to outline a planning approach that matches their organizational requirements. Effective strategic and operating plans typically include many of these common elements: strategic goals and objectives, situation analysis, key technical and business challenges, technology needs assessment, program and project descriptions, priorities and portfolio analysis, project milestones and schedules, performance metrics, implementation strategy, and budgets.

Now is the time to focus on the change and innovation that will lead to growth and opportunity during the economic upturn that lies ahead.

Reach your strategic business goals effectively, efficiently and most importantly...within budget!

The Difference Between Viruses and Spyware
virus alert

Viruses are codes that infiltrate your computer, usually through e-mail attachments.  If your computer is newly sluggish or if your e-mail contacts receive messages you didn't send, chances are your computer has a virus.

Spyware is software secretly installed by advertisers via pop-up ads. It monitors sites you visit and floods the screen with pop-up windows.

To prevent future attacks, don't click on pop-ups or open e-mail attachments from strangers.  If you want to open an attachment, scan it first by saving it to the hard drive, open the software, then run a manual scan.

Best practices for reducing or eliminating Viruses and Spyware is to leverage proven protection software used by all Infinity Business Systems Managed IT clients as it is not only protecting clients 24/7, but our CNOC is monitoring for outbreaks around the clock.
